Cover Letter

January 28, 2007 jeansdream

This was a funny one. I was looking for IT jobs in Hong Kong (in particular, my speciality which software development shops would need, but there weren’t that many software development shops in HK). I had sent many applications to many different companies. And in the cover letter, I included this line : If you are not looking for my skill set, please kindly pass it on to other IT companies. (So according to Bernie’s job seeker tips, I think, something in this spirit is a “no no” (Bernie can correct me). 🙂 )

Then I went in for a group interview… or a group meeting (I can’t remember now). People were supposed to do things according to some run-down / scripted events. Then the lead asked me to read the leading column, which was a long paragraph and had my home street name on it… (eh??)

Yeah, probably not a good thing to put into the cover letter, lucky it was a dream!
